blogger is acting weird

30 Jun 2011

And I can't access my dashboard. It's driving me mad cause I really want to write a post about the trip we had yesterday :(

Blogger, why do you suck so much sometimes?

Thankfully, I had put all my sponsors' buttons on my sidebar earlier today before Blogger went nut. You should check them out. They're all awesome!

I'm currently writing on my phone and am gonna post it via e-mail. Let's see if it works.

Sincerely,
Putdar.

i feel like i'm (almost) on top of the world

28 Jun 2011

In four months, I will be 20. In the whole 19 years and 8 months, I have never traveled without my family too far from home, aside some study tour and Scrabble-thingy. I have never spent holiday with my friends in a far away place. Parents usually don't allow me. That is why, my friend, I'm so GLAD that they allow me to go to Jakarta Fair with my new friends from BlowUP! I guess growing up and getting older ain't that bad, eh? Hehehehe... ;)

I'm praying that all the plans I have for the remaining 3 days in June and the whole month of July can go well. Amen.

Oh and did I mention that I am so GLAD? :)

Sincerely,
Putdar.

PS. I still have one spot for the sponsorship of July. Visit this for details ;)

friday night movies #3

24 Jun 2011

Goedenavond, mijn vrienden! My Dutch is quite good, eh? Well, thanks to Google Translate :p

I can't believe how days go by so fast and it's Friday night already! You know what that means? Yep, it's Friday Night Movies time. Can everybody say 'yay'? :D

Today, as usual, I watched two films. The first one was:
{source}

In Her Shoes is a drama about two sisters who are very different. The older sister is a succesful lawyer working in a firm. The younger sister is a pretty party girl who likes to mess around with guys. She is, however, unemployed and still living with her father and step-mother. The step-mother kicks her out of the house after she comes home drunk, and she ends up living with her older sister. Her bad attitude soon puts her older sister in troubles. She even sleeps with her older sister's boyfriend one night. When her older sister comes home and finds them in bed, she gets kicked out once again. Having nowhere to go, she finally decides to go to her grandmother's place in an old flocks house. It's when they are apart that they realise how much they need each other.

In my opinion, this film is good. I like how the older sister eventually forgives her younger sister. In the end, everybody is happy. I like happy endings. I mean, who doesn't? Haha!

{source}

And this one... I'm sure you know this one. Due Date is a story about Peter (haha! Like Sarasvati's song!) who has to rush home for her first child's birth, but he gets kicked out of the plane because of a self-proclaimed actor, Ethan. With all his belongings still on the plane, Peter is confused and clueless because he doesn't have any money to rent a car to go home to his wife. Ethan and his dog then show up with a rental car. Peter is forced to go home with Ethan, whom he doesn't get along very well.

This film is a very good laugh. I got very mad and frustated at Ethan and took a pity on Peter. Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis are good match. I love them! :D

Anyway, it's totally out of the topic, I already have four blog buttons to put on my sidebar on July. Three more buttons, fellas! Interested? Visit this post to see the rules :)

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,
Putdar.

anybody wants to trade blog buttons with me?

This week, Heather and Leelee posted on their blog, asking if anyone wants to do button trade with them and I have contacted both of them. I hope my button can make it on their sidebar. I also hope that it can bring a lot of new readers to my (weird) blog. My blogging-self-esteem needs a little booster :)

Now, I think I want to ask you guys, too, if there's anybody who wants to trade blog buttons with me. You can send a 200 x 120 button and your blog link to putdar2610@gmail.com, and I will send mine in the size you want. Here's some rules regarding the trade:

  1. You have to follow my blog, and I will follow yours.
  2. Static buttons only.
  3. Personal blog buttons only. No companies.
  4. I only give space for seven buttons this month.
  5. All buttons will be added at the beginning of July.
  6. All buttons will be shuffled in the middle of the month.
  7. You have to put my button on your blog. I will check it. If you don't put it, then your button will be taken off the list. (Well, it's a button trade, fellas!)
If you don't have buttons, I would be very glad to make one for you. Just send me a picture and your blog link via email.

Okay. Let's do this! :)

Sincerely,
Putdar.

oh hello, summer!

22 Jun 2011

{source}

I've always loved summer.

Well, okay. I live in a tropical country so there's no summer for me. But, let's consider this dry season as summer, shall we?

I love it when I don't have to go home soaking in the rain. I love it when I can leave my laundry hanging under the sun all day long without worrying that rain will re-wash them all. I love it when I can plan anything without being ruined by rain. I love it when there' no rain.

That, my friend, is one thing.

There's always two sides of everything, isn't there? When there's a good side, there will be a bad side.

What I hate about the dry season summer is the cold wind in the night. Oh yeah, I have to sleep in my sweater all night. Even though it's hot in the afternoon, the night and morning are usually very cold. And there are a lot of mosquitos, for God's sake! Plus, if the dry season summer happens for too long, there will be drought. My family and I are lucky enough that there have never been any drought in our place. But, whenever the dry season summer comes, the water in our house gets very smelly.

What about you, guys? What do you love/hate about summer/dry season? :)

Sincerely,
Putdar.

this seminar kinda open my eyes about this blog

20 Jun 2011

Yesterday, I attended this seminar about blogging: how to increase your blog's traffic, how to monetize it, how to use SEO, etc. I didn't really get what they were trying to say (aside of promoting idBlogNetwork, idBlogilicious, and Berniaga.com), but it did make me think about this blog.

You see, I'm just a girl trying to be recognised by the world through my blog. But I never really have a topic. I just write my daily activity, what I do, where I go, what songs I'm listening to, what movies I'm watching, and such things.

Whenever I blogwalk blogstalk, I see that all these blogs I follow are blogs about daily life, but with a structured path. I mean, some of them post about what they wear today, some other post about crafty things they do. Those two things (fashion and crafts) seem to be what most of blogger girls do (and post). I'm not really into fashion, nor am I a crafty girl. What should I do, then? I'm just a human-who-happens-to-also-be-a-blogger, so it's natural for me to want an army of followers and tons of people sponsoring my blog.

I fell so worthless now. I feel unwanted. Nobody likes my writings. And this blog will die slowly but sure. *sigh*

Sincerely,
Putdar.

friday night movies

17 Jun 2011

Hello! Friday is almost over here in my livingroom as it's only 30 minutes to midnight, but I still got time to write a brief post on my new (hopefully) weekly feature Friday Night Movies. This week I re-watched some old movies available in my laptop. Here's two of them.

{source}

The first movie is The Perfect Score. It's about six high school students who plot on stealing the SAT. Each of them has the urge to get a high score to pursue their dream, but they have the risk of failing because the SAT has its reputation of being unfair. I fist saw this movie in the television and I fell in love with it instantly because I was in high school and I was going to face the national exam, which has the same bad reputation with SAT, and I felt that the this movie kinda suited on me, though I would never ever steal the test. Haha!

{source}

The ending of this movie is kinda sweet, with two new couples and new best friends. You should watch it :)

{source}

The next movie is Keramat. I don't watch Indonesian horror movies very often, since I hate almost all of them, but this movie is different. It's about a movie production team who go to Yogyakarta to start the shooting process, but they end up being tortured by spirits and such. I first saw this movie in my friend's dorm, but never finished it. I just finished it tonight. It's creepy... (Well, of course that's the point of horror movies, I guess...)

Okay. So, I guess I'll see ya tomorrow? (What a lame way to close a post!)

Sincerely,
Putdar.

bye, year 2!

15 Jun 2011

See those smiles and grins of us? Well, today is the last day of my fourth semester. I took 9 classes this semester, and I had taken all the final exams. All I gotta do now is waiting for the results. I'm not sure about my grades. There's a 80% chance that my GPA will be less than last semester, but whatever! I just want to graduate in full speed!

Also, this afternoon I went to my very first meetup with all the dudes and dudettes from BlowUP! They're all fun and friendly. It was the very first time I saw them in person, but I already felt like a part of them. It's nice to finally be a part of something aside of my little circle of friends (and ESA, of course). We talked about a lot of thing, including our plan to sign up for a blogging seminar on Sunday and another plan to go to Jakarta Fair on the 1st of July. Can everybody say "Yay!"? :D

Sincerely,
Putdar.

would you like it if i put your name on a special song dedicated to you?

13 Jun 2011

I personally like songs with somebody's name on it. I don't care if the songs are specially made to show love or hate to that person. I just like it. These five songs are just some examples. Taylor Swift wrote a song about a boy named Drew who (unbeknownst to him) broke her heart back in high school. Arin Delaney is the name of an ex-girlfriend of the vocalist of Jack's Mannequin. Similarly, In My Ocean Blue, 'my darling Jane' is the name of Adam Levine's ex-girlfriend. Jamie is the name of 'the best lawyer in town' (well, at least according to Weezer :p). Unfortunately, I don't know who Penny in Hanson's song is.

I think it would be very cute if someone wrote a song with the word 'Putdar' in it. Anybody? :D

Sincerely,
Putdar.

on friday nights, i watch movies

10 Jun 2011

Ah... Weekend is finally here. Can you feel the magic in the air? I love weekend. I mean, who doesn't? It's the only time in the week when we could just chill and relax (I'm using the word 'chill', can you believe? :p) Plus, I am in the middle of the final weeks, so it's nice to be able to breathe for a while. Four down, baby, five more left!

{source}

Tonight, I finally watched P.S. I Love You. I'd been wanting to watch it since it was still showing in the cinemas, but I finally watched it tonight. Such a sad movie! But I didn't cry. I guess it was because I was too busy having a crush on Gerard Butler and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. They are hot! I know they're quite too old for me, but still! XD

{source}

After P.S. I Love You, I decided to re-watch First Love (A Little Thing Called Love). I'm pretty sure that you've already (at least) heard about it, right? It's a Thai movie about an ugly girl who falls in love with a cute senior. People praise the movie, but I have to say that I disagree. There are some aspects which I think aren't very good for girls.

First, I have to agree that it is normal for a girl to want to look pretty in front of the guy she likes. But brushing up your dark skin with a yellowish thingy? Come on! You don't have to force yourself that hard!
Second, okay, so Pin puts make up on Nam's face for the drama in the school festival, but why does Nam's sense of style also change? She starts wearing mini skirts. Plus, her hair is silikier and longer, too! What?
Third, Nam is such an evil! When Top confesses her feelings for Nam, she does not answer, but she agrees to go out with him to a couple of places. He kisses her cheek and then she gets mad, and when Top says "But you're my girlfriend?" she answers with "I never accept you as my boyfriend." She doesn't respect his feeling. And he's never coming back on screen for the rest of the movie! Unfair!
Fourth, the second reason why Nam is an evil is because she doesn't only break a boy's heart, she breaks her friends' heart too! She leaves them to chase after boys. She leaves them because she's prettier and she's hanging out with the 'cool' seniors now. After things fall apart, she comes back, and lucky her, her friends are kind enough take her back. They're good friends, she's not.
Fifth, nine years after graduating, they should be, what, twenty-seven? But why does Shone already retire from football? It's uncommon for a football player to retire in their 20s, right? I'm a football fan, so I know.

That's it. The idea of a nerdy girl falls in love with a popular guy is interesing, but I think the idea was not developed very well. That's too bad.

Okay. Nuff now. It's almost midnight. I gotta go blog stalking for a couple minutes, and then I'll go to sleep. I'm going to edit our Interpreting videos. Bye! <3

Sincerely,
Putdar.

my life iz cray-zeh, bay-beh!

8 Jun 2011

{source}

Life has been crazy lately. Just imagine that I was busy for AECS last week, and now I have my final exam week. Sweet. I'm glad that my body is strong enough. I'm tough! My girls and I just did another observation on Monday. We still have to write the report, which is due next week. We also still have Interpreting assignments. We should have had no assignments in final exam week, but here they go again!

But there's a good thing behind every sad thing, isn't it? Well, this time I won another giveaway from Heather's blog. She threw a blog party two weeks ago with a lot of giveaways. I won paper butterflies from All Things Chula. They're cute, aren't they? :)

Now, I have to say good bye so I could study (no, really :p)

Sincerely,
Putdar.

glasses

6 Jun 2011

Remember this post when I told you that I foolishly sat on my eyeglasses? Well, I got them repaired. Plus, I got a new pair too. It's the one with a full frame, so it's less vulnerable. Let's just hope that I won't break it this time. Haha!

Sincerely,
Putdar.

aecs 2011

*WARNING: This post is image heavy*

Ah... I can't believe I could stay away from this blog for THIS LONG! Plus, how could I forget to schedule a Quoted Saturday post?! I am such a bad blogger! *banging my head on the wall*

But actually I am so glad that AECS is over! I mean, what a weekend! I was supposed to have a super long weekend to laze around study for final exam (which starts on Wednesday), but I had to leave the house at 5.30 in the morning and then came home at 10pm every single day for four days. After the first day, my right leg decided to give up, so I had to drag it around in the next day. Haha! My body was torn apart. I was so very tired, but it was worth it. Glad to be a part of a successful event like AECS 2011. I am a SUPER JUVENILE! :D

Thanks for all the people who had worked very hard for this event. I love you. I'm gonna miss the boring meetings at room 04.204 :')

Sincerely,
Putdar.

a brief update (cause i know you miss me ;p)

It's the 2nd day of AECS 2011. Wish us more luck!
